All I want for Christmas is abs that would make a cover model envious.
Is there room for me in this Tech-Savvy community?

I have been browsing the other BLOGS here at JoeUser.com and I am not oblivious to the fact that a blog about health and fitness sticks out like a sore thumb.
I am enjoying immensely all the other writers but I wonder why there are so many BLOGS that seem to be started up and then simply abandoned. Many have no entries at all.
There is also the TECHIE factor. Many bloggers seem to be very well versed on computer programming and such. It is something I have always wanted to learn so that in itself is inspiring that so many out there are educated in computers. It is the new millenium and eventually, in my opinion, it's just going to be a fact of life that most people will know all about ccomputers and programming. Right now I'm just feeling proud if I use my computer's User-friendly trouble shooting programs to fix a problem. You know what I am talking about : "Is your printer PLUGGED in?" and you click YES or NO.
I am also wondering if there is way, especially as I achieve my own personal fitness goals, to turn this blog into a sort of inspiration for others to follow a healthy lifestyle. maybe. I mean, I am the kind of person that in real life everybody knows "he's into fitness" and they know I won't eat crackers and fried foods and all normally and I guess the idea was to share that even people who are FITNESS LOVERS struggle. I have a problem with eating in the midst of night while watching David Letterman. And , as I recently discovered, I have a problem being able to turn off the eating switch if I include sweet tastes (even coffee with SPLENDA!) with dinner.
So we all struggle. I'm just trying to break it down, be honest with my failures and maybe people will identify and learn faster than I did about exercise, diet and the importance of identifying destructive habits. Or maybe people will simply click to the next available log about Open Source Programming or Skinning. Hey that's what I do when I finish my articles. Maybe I'll learn something useful.

I know exactly what you mean about the eating at night while watching a late night show!!! I somewhat have a handle on it that maybe helpful to you. I think that how hungry and how much you crave late night is related to NOT the amount you eat during the day, but how frequent and what types of foods you intake during that period of eating.

For instance, I like to balance my carbs and protien intake. I try to take most of my carbohydrates before 6pm so things breads, rice, potatoes i try to eat most of it before dinner and only have a small helping with my dinner portion because foods high in carbs usually are associated with something that makes you hungry just a few hours later. I forgot the medical explination, but the way i understand it is that if you eat something high in carbs, you'll be hungry just a few hours later, as apposed to eating a meal that is rich in protien, usually 70% protien to only 30% carbs. this works for me, and plus, to help take off the edge, i pound away water like it's nobodies business.

Especially at night, i'll drink a ton of water so that my stomach and mind think i'm full so i don't crave much. If you need something to munch on, i really suggest dry almonds or some other light peanut because it's not jacked with the things that will create fat while your sleeping as much as other products such as chocolate, or chips. try the water thing though, and also the high protien dinner, tell me how that works out for you.

hey, fitness talk may not the hottest item on here, but if you get enough interesting people to link here, you'll be surprised as to how fitness talk can spread like a virus!
