1994, Haven't Seen You In So Long!
So if I could travel back in time to 1994, what would I change?
#1. I would have developed better study habits.
#2. I would have realized sooner that school is a huge waste of time and so were 90% of the people there.
#3. I would have saved more of the money I was making when I had no real bills.
#4. I would have stopped cultivating such a geeky image sooner. Let me add to this for anyone still in high school : stupid little things like your haircut, your clothes, and whether or not you wear glasses DO mean a lot to the way other kids treat you. YES you are the same person inside and that's all well and good in a Gary Zukov kind of way, but in the REAL world , UNLIKE in movies, image really is everything and you could make your high school life so much better by just changing your appearance. I was a dumb-ass and insisted on "being myself". This SOUNDS like a good idea but it really is more trouble than it's worth. Give in and conform. I'm serious. When you go home you can "be yourself". At school be whoever your peers and teachers want you to be. It's only for a few years.
#5. Be More Confident I didn't realize until later in life that I was cuter than I gave myself credit for and a little confidence would have gone a long way. Now I look back and realize why people much uglier than me had dates all the time. Thinking about it, they were very confident. Or at least pretended to be.
#6. I would have used the phrase "Shove It" a lot more often.
#7. I would have never started eating sugared foods again.
#8. I would have asked my wife to marry me instead of her surprising me.
#9. I would have started doing charity and volunteer work earlier in life instead of all that other crap I wasted time on
#10. I would have not picked on my younger brother so much. Probably of all the things I can't take back, this is the one that will haunt me the most. I probably wasn't the worst older brother out there, but I was maybe a "3" if the worst is a ONE.
