Okay. So I am at lunch. I take my lunch every day from 2pm - 3pm right after my boss gets back from his lunch break. Well, today after I eat I have some things to get done so I call the library to re-check some books and then change the lightbulb in the spare room so that ---oh wait, wait a minute, it's not lighting up --- what the heck, I KNOW this is a brand new bulb. Oh, what's this? The LIGHT SWITCH seems to be completely screwed up. Probably from the EARTHQUAKE we had yesterday. So I call Housing Maintenance and the lady says she has an opening TODAY at 3pm. So I TAKE it. No big deal, I figure. Well I call work and tell my boss, "hey so they are coming to fix my house can I come back from lunch late? Maybe 3:15 or 3:30?" and he is like "you have 30 minutes left." "Yes I KNOW that but the appointment is at three". and he sort of hems and haws and with a sigh "ooookay." I mean, you've got to be kidding me! This is the guy who calls in late for work every other day. Who was late on Saturday as a matter of fact. And he doesn't call early either. If he is supposed to be there are 9am he will call at 9:20 to let you know he will "be late". Uhm, yeah, thanks for the heads up there guy. I canNOT believe him sometimes.
The best part is, he doesn't have to DO anything extra! I have an employee there, which means he won't even have to come out of his office to make up for me being half an hour late back for lunch. I mean, how exactly does this affect him? It doesn't. Because if I'm there I work and he doesn't and if I'm not there he still doesn't work. You know, sometimes I think "he's not so bad" and I promise to think only good thoughts about him and say good things about him. But then something like this happens. And this is pretty minor I'll admit. But I mean, REALLY! Like HE can be late all the damn time but the ONE DAY I need some extra time to GET MY HOUSE fixed it's this major ordeal? I don't think so. Oh my boss. What am I going to do with him? Perhaps grind him into a fine paste and use that to polish my furniture.
