Okay so last night I'm watching Stone Phillips do some special on the Harris'. A nice little family who had SIX babies at one time. Why is it that every time I see one of these stories the parents usually seem to already have a kid but are having a hard time conceiving again so they decide to spend the first kids college funds on fertility treatments and BOOM! now there are four, five, six babies in there. And they always say "oh, it's such a miracle from God." No, no, my friend, it would be ...
Sharper Image Bathroom CD Player The sound quality was crappy and the thing went through batteries like Star Jones at a buffet table. CURRENT STATUS : was donated to thrift store A: a novel by Andy Warhol I really loved POPism, THE Philosphy of Andy Warhol, and The Andy Warhol Diaries, so I thought I would buy this when it got re-released this year. It is BORING and almost incomprehensible. CURRENT STATUS : Sitting on my bookshelf PROACTIV (an acne fighting s...
So if I could travel back in time to 1994, what would I change? #1. I would have developed better study habits. #2. I would have realized sooner that school is a huge waste of time and so were 90% of the people there. #3. I would have saved more of the money I was making when I had no real bills. #4. I would have stopped cultivating such a geeky image sooner. Let me add to this for anyone still in high school : stupid little things like your haircut, your clothes, and w...
Folks, you would think most of these would be common sense by now. BUT NO, I still see people doing these things. I don't care if you are "too cool to care" or so ridiculously uncool that you have no clue. You still look hideous, and you should not be allowed out in public as now my retinas are scarred by your horrid horrid fashion sense. Wearing Blue Eyeshadow This is one of my wife's pet peeves. Blue eyeshadow is okay if you are a model doing a shoot for Surface or some other arty type ...
I've seen some other people post their opinions of things they would like to see on JoeUser.com, so here are some of mine. *It doesn't seem fair that I get points for making a comment to a comment in my own article. *I noticed that there is now a way to chnage your name. (If there wasn't before.) THANK YOU! I was not happy being stuck with the moniker IWANTABS. What was I thinking? *Is there any way to make a list of favorite blogs? I know you can do a track article thingie but there d...
Yes, it's that time of the year again. Time to forget about all the little regrets you have of 2003 and instead look forward to 2004. First, let me say that 2003 has been a very good year for me. I am happier than ever in my marriage. I never ever thought being married would be this much fun. It seems like nobody I know is happy being married. Either that is really the case or they are hiding it. And why do OTHER couples, both married and unmarried, always want to give you advice on your rel...
I've been reading Ayn Rand's "The Fountainhead" for about a week and a half now and I'm halfway through PART 2. I really enjoy the book, it has that great "can-do" spirit going on. You know, build yourself up from nothing and take no prisoners, I don't need anybody... fierce independence. The characters are very interesting and I like the little complexities. You can never really put your finger on anybody. You cannot say "oh he is the good guy, she is the bad one" etc. A few thought...
Everyone I meet has a different take on this. This is my take and what I know from my experience: Where I work, we have a company policy print-out that paraphrased basically says "All credit cards must be signed according to the rules of all three major credit card processors, (AmEx, Discover, and FDMS). If a customer's card is not signed or has "check id" written on it, please ask for two forms of ID to verify that they are the cardholder and then have them sign the card." In a nutshell.

okay. I'm taking a little break from my updates about dieting and ATKINS and whatnot. Yes, I am still trying to get a perfect six pack going on, but I have to tell you, I seriously regret naming my blog that. In a way, it's very limiting. But, I guess it speaks volumes about the kind of superficial crap that is really important to me, sadly enough. But enough of that. I would like to talk right now about the retail industry. Quite a lot gets said from the customers point of view but now I ...
Well, it is early Christmas morning and what I am most excited about is what I am giving MYSELF for Christmas, namely, control over my eating habits and a new way of eating and the abdominals I have always wanted. Here is my inspirational person for the day : Rich! He is 3 inches taller than me but weighs just a few pounds more than I did at my last low weight and the guy is ripped. Starting Weight: 152.5 Starting Body Fat: 17 PERCENT Actually, let's see if I can't...
Almost everybody knows the name "atkins". We all know people who have tried the diet, maybe even lost weight on the diet. Well, I bought two of his books, "New Diet Revolution" and "Atkins For Life" and I believe this is really the plan I have been needing. Twice in my adult life I have weighed for brief periods at a weight I was personally happy with. Right around 135. I even almost had my coveted abs. Right now I weigh about 150 and I feel like --- well, like the marshmellow man. I know tha...
So recently I've been hearing a lot about this band The Darkness. Online persons recommend them. Magazines applaud them. What does the music sound like? Well. It sounds sort of like Deep Purple fronted by The Cure's Robert Smith. I'm not sure but I think the idea was they were trying to do a sort of satire on that whole long hair WHITESNAKE type of music. But, ironic or not, this whole album has been one annoying tune after another. I feel like trailer park trash. The riffs are irritati...
"If you could be home for the holidays with family and friends anywhere in the world, where would you be?" I would be in Florida. My family lives in Florida. Her family lives in Florida. So I would be there. Probably staying with one of them and being entirely uncomfortable. I try to have fun when visiting my relatives but it is not easy for me. I'm sure for a lot of people this question would bring up the warm fuzzies. And maybe I'm a tad ungrateful. Because I do still have both of my pare...
Well. It's been over three weeks since I started this blog and I've GAINED fat. I'm up to 16.5% now. Holy cow. I only have one big bad problem and that is eating at night after dinner. Those cravings. Where the hell did they come from? I have never ever had this problem before. Now all of a sudden it is? Nothing I have tried has worked. But I am still determined to get my abs. If it takes three months so be it. This sucks big time. At the beginning of November I was SO CLOSE. Man. oh well. Gotta...
These are just some random thoughts I have about different programs on TV : *Remember Showtime At The Apollo ? I used to like that show. Except the hosts were always awful ! Sinbad, Rudy Rush, Steve Harvey. It's like the very worst black comediens were always hired to host that show. Then all of a sudden it was Showtime In Harlem then just Showtime! and now it is Live In Hollywood . They moved it across the country and they just let Kiki Sheppard host. So what's wrong with the show? We...
